Spanish Rice

Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 can (14-1/2 ounces) no-salt-added diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1.5 cups rice (brown or white)
- 2.5 cups of water or beef broth
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine seasonings, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, rice, and water; bring to a simmer.
- In a large skillet, cook beef, onion and pepper over medium heat 6-8 minutes or until beef is no longer pink and onion is tender, breaking up beef into crumbles; drain.
- Combine all ingredients in the large pot, let cook until desired consistency.
